Lewis Hamilton secures maiden Grand Prix victory, Montreal, 2007

100.00 300.00

This dynamic and intertwining graph charts the positions of the drivers throughout the duration of the 2007 Canadian Grand Prix - Lewis Hamilton’s very first Grand Prix victory in only his first season and only his sixth race as a Formula 1 driver.

Reading from left to right, each driver’s starting position is shown at the bottom of the graph before building to show their eventual positions at the end of the race.

With Hamilton represented in gold, you’re able to see that he lost the lead only briefly during the entire race - not bad for a rookie driver. But, as impressive as Hamilton is the performance of Mclaren’s other driver, Heikki Kovalainen, who, starting from a disastrous 22nd spot on the grid, drove wonderfully to finish fourth.

All drivers that failed to complete the race are represented with a dashed line.
